The Florentine Gemological Institute opened its doors in January 2019, in the mesmerizing setting of beautiful Florence. After the success of the first gemological course held between January and May, we are ready to restart on September 28, with 5 types of courses, according to your needs.
In fact, the educational purpose of the courses is not only to train modern professional Gemologists, but also true enthusiasts of precious gems, who want to learn to analyze them and know their value.
In the courses we will teach you to follow the criteria of analysis and the parameters that G.I.A. has dictated to the whole world.
Furthermore, we will talk about market prices and the real value of Diamonds and Gems.

The four Courses
All courses include one lesson per week. The weekly day on which the course will take place will be chosen by the students, based on their various needs.
1) Three-Year Modern Gemology Course, renamed College of Gems: 550 gems to analyze and 60 written tests to pass (frequency 1 day per week).
2) Semi-annual Diamond study course and assiduous practice (frequency 1 day per week).
3) 12-week Basic Gemology and Jewelry Course (frequency 1 day per week).
4) Free Basic Gemology Course online on YouTube (frequency whenever you want)
The courses will restart in late September 2019.

No advance payment is required. The first lesson of any of our courses is free and without commitment. This way we have the possibility to show you the competences and the love we have for Gemology. Consequently you will be able to decide whether to participate or not in the course.
Total Gemology
Our Gemological Institute is the Institute that launched the new philosophy of Total Gemology.
Total Gemology is a new way of seeing Gemology and is the complete interpretation of the Gemological art. The dictates of Total Gemology require that the analysis of the Gem must be accompanied by the conferral of a precise economic value, keeping in mind the real criteria with which Gems are actually traded in the world.

The I.G.G. Headquarters remain in Genoa, with a teaching section, an analysis section and a research section. Instead, the teaching section of Gemology is expanding, finally opening in Tuscany. We will offer you the top of Modern Gemology, hoping to be warmly welcomed by all of you. Everything will be enhanced by a background that only Tuscany can offer.
We will talk about Gemology with current terms, immersed in all the load of charm that this subject carries with it. We will teach you all the real prices of Gems and obviously of Diamonds. At the end of the course you will be perfectly prepared, in such a way that you will never feel embarrassed when you carry out your delicate work.
